2. Rehibilitation

Rehabilitation is a key part of your recovery, helping you regain strength, mobility, and confidence after surgery. During this phase, you’ll work with therapists and rehabilitation specialists who guide you through targeted exercises and activities. Their support helps you rebuild function, manage discomfort, and gradually return to your daily routines.

Supporting Your Recovery, Strength, and Independence

Rehabilitation is an important part of your healing journey, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. After amputation surgery, it’s normal to have questions and uncertainties. Our team is committed to helping you regain mobility, adapt to daily activities, and build confidence as you move forward. You are not alone—we’re here to support you from the very beginning.

Your Rehabilitation Team

Throughout your stay, you will work with a coordinated team of specialists who focus on your physical, emotional, and functional recovery. Physiotherapists help you rebuild strength, balance, and mobility. Occupational therapists work with you on daily activities and routines. Prosthetists begin planning for your future prosthetic limb, while rehabilitation physicians and nurses monitor your healing and comfort. Emotional and practical support is also available through social workers and psychologists, ensuring that your recovery addresses both body and mind.

Emotional Support During Your Recovery

Adjusting to life after amputation involves both physical healing and emotional adaptation. It is completely normal to experience a wide range of feelings during this time. Our team is here to offer support, whether through counseling, encouragement, or connecting you with others who have experienced similar journeys. We are committed to helping you build resilience and confidence as you move forward.

Preparing for Prosthetic Use

As your limb heals, your team will guide you through the steps needed to prepare for prosthetic fitting. This may include compression therapy to shape your residual limb, strengthening exercises to support future movement, and education about what to expect during the fitting and training process. Every prosthetic device is customized to match your needs, lifestyle, and goals, and we will help you understand each part of the journey.

Your Path Forward

Rehabilitation is not only about recovery—it is about rebuilding your life with strength and independence. With personalized care, steady progress, and ongoing support, many patients return to meaningful activities and achieve a high level of independence. We will walk alongside you through each milestone, helping you discover what is possible and supporting your journey toward renewed confidence and mobility.

Building Strength and Independence

As rehabilitation progresses, you will begin practicing skills that help you return to your daily routines. This may involve standing and balancing, safely moving from bed to chair, or starting to walk with or without a temporary prosthesis. You will relearn everyday tasks at a pace that feels manageable and safe. Over time, therapy will support your return to home activities, community participation, work, or hobbies that matter to you.
